When to convert JPG to WebP
WebP files are typically 25 to 35% smaller than the equivalent JPG at the same visual quality, and every browser in current use supports it. For photographs on a website this is close to a free win.
The trade-off
Some older desktop software still will not open a WebP. Keep the JPG if the file is also going to be emailed around or opened outside a browser.

How much smaller will my WebP files be compared to JPG?
Typically 25-34% smaller at equivalent visual quality. The savings are most noticeable with large, high-resolution photographs.
Will I notice a quality difference?
