Hand-coded, and what that actually buys you

Most Cincinnati businesses do not need a custom-built website. A template on a mainstream platform is genuinely fine for a straightforward brochure site, and we will tell you so rather than sell you something heavier. Development becomes worth paying for at a specific point: when what you need stops fitting what the platform was designed to do.

That point usually looks like one of a few things. You need your site talking to something else, a booking system, a CRM, an inventory feed, a payment flow with rules attached. You have a page type nobody built a plugin for. Your site has accumulated eleven plugins to do four jobs and now takes six seconds to load. Or you are being quoted a monthly platform fee that grows every year for software you will never own.

We hand-code because it removes the ceiling. There is no theme to fight, no page builder writing markup we did not ask for, and no plugin whose next update breaks your contact form. The tradeoff is honest: hand-coded work costs more up front than assembling a template, and it is the wrong answer for a simple five-page site. When your requirements are specific, it is cheaper over three years than paying someone to keep a template doing something it was never built for.

What we commit to

Performance budgets set before we write code, not measured afterwards. A page has a weight limit and a load-time target from day one, and features get built to fit the budget. This is the opposite of the usual sequence, where a site ships slow and someone is later paid to optimize it. It is also why our builds pass Core Web Vitals rather than nearly passing them.

You own the code. The repository is yours. If you stop working with us, you take the site to another developer and they can read it, because it is standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript rather than a proprietary export. No licence to renew, no platform holding your content, no rebuild required to leave.

Integrations are built, not bolted on. Connecting a booking system or a CRM properly means handling the cases that go wrong: the double booking, the failed payment, the duplicate lead. A plugin will do the happy path. Development is what covers the rest.
